Idaho Man Charged With Murder In Connection With Infant Death

A Central Idaho man is behind bars, charged with murder, in connection with the death of an infant.

On Oct. 29, medical personnel and Lewiston police were summoned to the 1200 block of Bryden Avenue. That's where they found a 5-month-old male unconscious and not breathing. The medical personnel rushed the infant to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, and the child was then airlifted to Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle. Officials said the child had suffered severe trauma to the brain and died Oct. 31 from the injuries.

"After conducting numerous interviews with doctors and specialists who treated Jordan and reviewing medical reports, it was determined that his injuries were the result of a non-accidental traumatic event," said Lewiston Deputy Chief Roger Lanier.

Cody Gossage, 20, was booked into the Nez Perce County jail on a felony count of first-degree murder.
