Boise Police took to Twitter Friday morning in hopes of getting some help from the public in connection with a stolen car. Making matters worse, a 1-year-old boy was inside the vehicle at the time of the heist.

The incident occurred at 7:30 a.m. at a gas station on the corner of Main and 27th streets. The driver had left the car running and went inside the gas station to pay, and that's when someone jumped into the car and drove off.

The car and child were found in a parking lot of an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Hartman Street, about two miles away from the scene of the crime.

The thief was still on the loose at sunrise. Police are hoping that anyone with information will call 208-377-6790.
