An article in this morning's Idaho Statesman
dances around whether or not soon-to-retire Idaho Secretary of State Ben Ysursa had voted for Democrat Holli Woodings to be his successor.
points to a Facebook page from Idaho Conservation League Executive Director Rick Johnson, who strongly hinted that Ysursa had voted for Woodings. "I didn't vote for the guy
," Johnson says Ysursa told him. Later, Ysursa wouldn't confirm the rumor other than to say that he had already cast his ballot.
But a press release from Woodings' camp was a bit less vague, assuming that Ysursa had indeed chosen the Democrat.
“If the current Secretary of State, Ben Ysursa, voted for me I am deeply honored by his decision," wrote Woodings this morning. "The legacy of fairness and honesty that Ben has built in his tenure is a tradition I plan to carry on into the future. It’s the reason I ran for office.”
Woodings has repeatedly dropped Ysursa's name and legacy into every stump speech at every campaign stop, insisting that she was the right successor.
