An Idaho teenager is in critical condition after—while running for a school bus—he was struck by a pickup early Thursday.
The Argus Observer is reporting
that the accident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 95 and Sixth Avenue South in Payette. Police said the 13-year-old was running to catch a bus when a northbound truck struck him.
Witnesses said the victim's head went through the pickup's windshield and the boy was thrown into the road. The Observer
reports that the boy was flown to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise via Life Flight. The accident is still under investigation and a stretch of U.S. 95 was closed through much of the morning.
