Uber, the app-driven taxi service, is rolling into Boise for its launch party Thursday, Oct. 2. The launch will take place Thursday, Oct. 2, at Bittercreek Ale House from 5-7 p.m., and features complimentary Uber transportation to- and from the event using the Uber smartphone app.
The service has drawn controversy in other cities where it has been accused of skirting regulations that apply to licensed taxi services and ignoring the Americans with Disabilities Act, though so far, Boise officials have not yet made statements for or against Uber or other similar services like Lyft.
