As if commuters don't already have enough to contend with, an aggressive schedule of Boise road work is ramping up this week as the Ada County Highway District continues to roll out its fall 2014 maintenance schedule, which will not only improve pavement but bring more directional change to the downtown core.
Morning commuters may have already noticed that a stretch of Capitol Boulevard is closed, and will be remain shut down from Front to Main streets for milling and resurfacing. The closure will remain in effect through Sunday, Oct. 5.
What's next? Weather permitting, 12th Street will be closed between Main and State streets on Oct. 4-5, also for milling and paving.
Boise's one-way to two-way street conversions will also be rolled out in the coming weeks, including:
- Third Street, from Main to State
- Fourth Street, from Main to State
- 11th Street, from Main to State
- 12th Street, from Front to State
- Jefferson Street, from Fourth to First
Additionally, as those streets transition to two-ways, ACHD will be installing new traffic signals:
- Third and Main
- Third and Idaho
- 11th and Main
- 11th and Idaho
- 11th and Bannock
- 11th and Jefferson
- 11th and State
