The Ada County coroner has identified the victim of a bad motorcycle/automobile accident which backed up traffic on State Street in Boise for several hours Sunday.
The coroner said 47-year-old Lance Wilfong was not wearing a helmet when his motorcycle collided with a sports utility vehicle on State Street near Horseshoe Bend Road. Wilfong suffered blunt-force head trauma and was pronounced dead at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.
An investigation is continuing.
Meanwhile, Idaho State Police continue to investigate a separate motorcycle crash that injured two people, also on Sunday. A spokeswoman for ISP confirmed that the crash occurred shortly after a Boise County Sheriff's vehicle had made a U-turn to catch a speeder. The motorcycle was traveling behind the sheriff's vehicle. A man and a woman were both airlifted to a Boise hospital after the crash near Highland Valley Summit and Robie Creek Road.
