Idaho Ag Department Warns of Contaminated Raw Milk From Canyon County Dairy

The Idaho Department of Agriculture has posted a warning that raw milk coming out of a Canyon County farm may have been contaminated.

The ISDA said, in particular, raw goat and cow milk produced the week of Aug. 24 had tested positive for the pathogen cryptosporidium, a parasite that can cause diarrhea. The department ordered all raw milk sales from Treasured Sunrise Acres halt until further notice.  More importantly, state officials are warning consumers who may have purchased raw goat or cow milk on or after Aug. 24 to discard the product.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said complications from cryptosporidium can subside from a healthy person within a week.
