Idaho Fish and Game confirmed Wednesday that a mountain lion made an appearance in a northwest Boise neighborhood just before dawn Wednesday. The animal reportedly got into a fight with a pet dog near the corner of Hill Road and North Collister Drive.
A homeowner told IDFG officials that he saw the lion on his back porch shortly after the encounter his German shorthaired pointer.
Fish and Game officials said they were still on the lookout for the mountain lion later in the day, but guessed that the animal was young and on the lookout for food.
Meanwhile, the pointer continues to recover from injuries suffered at the paws of the lion.
