An Eastern Idaho high-school student was taken into custody Thursday and charged with bringing a firearm to school.
The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office was called to Lincoln Alternative School in Idaho Falls Aug. 21, when another student reported that the suspect had a gun. The witness' parent called school administrators who, in turn, contacted law enforcement.
When sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene, they said they discovered a pellet gun in a backpack that was hanging on the student's chair.
This morning's Idaho State Journal
reports that while authorities were taking the suspect into custody, another student was charged with resisting and obstructing and battery on an officer.
