Friday and Saturday were nasty days on Idaho roadways.
A Meridian motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Sand Hollow Road and Black Canyon Road. That's where witnesses said a pickup turned onto Black Canyon and was struck by a motorcycle. Idaho State Police said the motorcyclist, 52-year-old Aaron Sharp, of Meridian, was wearing a helmet but was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile westbound lanes of I-84 near Franklin Boulevard were completely blocked Saturday night when a motorist lost control of his vehicle while attempting to navigate construction. Witnesses said the vehicle struck a commercial vehicle before colliding with a guardrail.
And Idaho State Police are still investigating two Friday fatalities.
Fernando Gonzales, 28, of the town of Roberts was killed when his motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve on Idaho Highway 48 in Jefferson County.
And 61-year Theresa Grossklaus of Orofino was killed when the bicycle she was riding was struck by a truck on U.S. 12 in northern Idaho.
