Last February, at the height of the Idaho Legislature's debate over guns on campus, North Idaho College saw a bit of its own drama when campus security confronted a student who confirmed that he was indeed in possession of a firearm.
And now that same man, 34-year-old Michael Dan, of Rathdrum, has pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon onto NIC's campus without a permit.
This morning's Coeur d'Alene Press reports that Dan also pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia. The February incident unfolded after a witness told security that he thought Dan would come to campus that day with a weapon.
Dan awaits sentencing, but a pre-sentence hearing hasn't yet been scheduled.
