Press: Armed Bandits in North Idaho? No, It Was the 'Shrooms

Kootenai County Sheriff's deputies report that they were flagged down early Sunday morning by a frantic young man who breathlessly told them of being chased by two men, each with a handgun and threatening to kill him.

The men never existed.

This morning's Coeur d'Alene Press reports that law enforcement took particular note of the man's "extremely excited behavior, jittery movements and odd behavior." Upon further questioning, the man said he had used mushrooms and marijuana earlier. When things had quieted down, and police found no suspects in the area, the man admitted that he had been hallucinating through the night "due to 'shroom usage."
