KTVB-TV reports that Body Renew locked its doors July 9, with little-to-no warning, and now says it's probably filing for bankruptcy. Body Renew has locations in Boise, Meridian and Star.
One client told KTVB that dues had been taken out of accounts as recently as "four or five days" before Body Renew locked its members out.
"It looks shady and it's just a sad way to run a business," Jacob Wilson told KTVB.
A spokeswoman in Body Renew's accounting office told KTVB that the company may have grown too fast, pointing to the company's newest Meridian location, which "proved to be too much."
"It's a business that's bleeding,' billing specialist Gina Reynolds told KTVB. "We're being crushed by the big guy."
Meanwhile, Body Renew's rating with the Better Business Bureau dropped to "F."
Sixty Body Renew employees received their final checks hours after the business shut down, according to KTVB.
