Most crimes went down in Idaho during 2013, according to the latest "Crime in Idaho" report from the Idaho State Police's Bureau of Criminal Identification.
The main crime rate, tied to so-called "Group A" offenses, including crimes against persons and property decreased 2.2 percent, compared to 2.2 percent.
Violent crimes decreased 0.3 percent, with 3,231 violent crimes reported to law enforcement. Idaho's violent crime rate is ranked 45th in the nation.
Crimes against persons, including nonconsensual sex offenses, dropped 3.7 percent. Hate crimes dropped 11.1 percent, crimes against property decreased 3.9 percent, but crimes against society, which includes drug and narcotic violations, increased 9.4 percent.
