A Boise woman is behind bars, charged with intentionally setting a fire in the early morning hours of June 15.
Boise firefighters responded to the blaze, which broke out in a residence in the area of South Curtis Road and West Cassia Street. And while firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, the blaze was immediately suspected of being suspicious in nature.
Karen Guzman, 23, of Boise was booked into the Ada County Jail on a felony count of arson.
Boise Police report that they stopped a vehicle in the evening hours of June 14 after the driver allegedly drove through two stop signs and failed to signal on a left turn. Officers said they could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver and his speech was slow and slurred and his eyes were glassy and bloodshot. Police also said a young child was in the vehicle.
It turns out that the driver was previously convicted of DUIs in 2010 and 2011, making the latest charge a felony.
Gilbert Rojas, 27, of Boise was charged with felony DUI and injury to a child.
