What started out as a bizarre call to Boise Police where a citizen told dispatch that a man was hitting squirrels landed the man in jail charged with trafficking heroin.
Boise Police were called to a home near North 23rd and West Bannock streets. That's where police said the suspect had been chasing and hitting squirrels with a stick. The man was ultimately arrested for cruelty to animals and resisting and obstructing when officers found the subject uncooperative. In a search following the arrest, officers said they discovered a brown substance that tested positive for heroin.
25-year-old Aaron Lehotsky of Boise was booked into the Ada County Jail on the three charges.
Boise Police say they were also called to a Boise home after receiving a report that the suspect had sexual contact with a vulnerable female adult who is mentally disabled. The contract had allegedly occurred on multiple occasions.
61-year-old Larry Best of Boise is charged with a felony count of exploitation of a vulnerable adult.
52-year-old Linda Hartwell of Boise was charged with a felony count of trafficking meth.
