As owners of the newly refurbished Owyhee count down the days to their Wednesday, July 9, opening when they'll swing the doors open to a the century-old Owyhee Plaza, they're busy securing leases for the east half of the mixed-use complex.
In fact, co-owners LocalConstruct and Old Boise announced Monday that they had inked a new 10,250-square-foot office lease with Boise-based MetaGeek. developer of small and large office Wi-Fi network solutions. MetaGeek, the first major office tenant to be announced, will occupy the entire fifth floor of the Owyhee.
In total, the Owyhee includes over 115,000 square feet of commercial and residential space.
The west side of the complex features 36 apartments, four of them studios.
"We're really taking a swing on building a new downtown, wireless, public space for people to hang out," said Mike Brown, co-owner of the L.A.-based LocalConstruct.
In addition to what owners call a collaborate work space in the space, open to the public, the Owyhee will also include a coffee shop, casual dining, a new gym for tenants and residents. The building also includes 25,000 square feet of event space, including a remodeled rooftop penthouse.
