A Caldwell woman is in trouble with the law after the Ada County Sheriff's Office said she smuggled contraband into the Idaho Correctional Center this past November. Investigators said 31-year-old Danielle Pennington shipped a box containing DVDs and a game console to a Boise man who was locked up at the ICC, but police said there was a false bottom to the box, where Pennington allegedly placed iPods and a cellphone.
Pennington turned herself into the Ada County Sheriff's Office on May 21, where she was charged with a felony count of introducing or attempting to introduce major contraband. She was released on bail but faces an arraignment Tuesday, May 27.
Meanwhile, the recipient of the shipment at the ICC, 25-year-old Devon Elmore, of Boise, also faces the same felony charge.
