A fugitive probationer has been captured on the streets of Boise by local police and the U.S. Marshals Office.
David Persons had been sentenced to 2-to-10 years in prison in 2013 for the 2012 vehicular manslaughter of a 4-year-old. But in March of this year, the court suspended Persons' sentence, ordering him to complete an intensive drug and alcohol treatment program. And earlier this month, a warrant was issued when Persons failed to maintain contact with his probation officer.
Acting on an anonymous tip, a team of undercover law enforcement officers said they discovered Persons walking near the intersection of Cole and Overland roads on Wednesday evening. He was taken into custody without incident.
