'Duffel Bag Bandit' Gets 5 Years in Federal Prison


A Louisiana man who robbed the U.S. Bank at 10700 Ustick Road in Boise was sentenced April 16 to 60 months in prison.

Gerald Massey, 57, stole almost $65,000 in March 2013, for which he will spend the next five years in a federal penitentiary. He has also agreed to pay $83,448 in restitution for that robbery and three others he committed in Boise, including a Chase Bank in December 2012, a Washington Trust Bank in January 2013 and a Wells Fargo Bank, also in January 2013.

Massey did not possess or represent himself as having a weapon during the robberies.
