Boise Mayor Dave Bieter announced the city's neighborhood reinvestment grant recipients April 10. This year, the city will award $264,311 for 24 capital grants and $24,501 for 17 mini grants.

Capital grants fund neighborhood capital improvements to enrich communities, while mini-grants fund smaller projects like neighborhood gatherings and websites. This year, grants totaled $288,812. In 2013, just over $300,000 in neighborhood reinvestment grants were disbursed

Projects receiving funding this year include an art boundary at Whittier Elementary ($38,000), neighborhood bike racks for the Lusk Street Neighborhood Association ($12,600) and the relocation of a community garden in Comba Park
