Idaho Parent Loses It at Basketball Game, Handcuffed, Charged With Battery

An Eastern Idaho man is facing criminal charges after an Idaho Falls high-school basketball game got out of hand.

KIDK-TV reports that the father of two Skyline High School basketball players was incensed when one of his sons received a foul in the Feb. 14 game. That's when police said the father walked over to the referrees and began yelling. The Idaho Falls Police Department says the father, Chris Baker, also pushed a school resource officer, who placed Baker in handcuffs.

Police said Baker became increasingly "belligerent and combative," and was charged with disturbing the peace, battery on an officer and resisting arrest.

School officials said they're conducting their own investigation to see if any steps need to be taken for future games.

Meanwhile, Skyline lost to Bonneville High School 84-61.
