Police Blotter: Arrests for Cocaine, Heroin and Meth Possession

Austin Vail, 24, is charged with possession of heroin and suboxone and drug paraphernalia.

Boise Police say they were summoned to a hotel in the 4000 block of West Fairview Avenue Jan. 18. That's when hotel employees reported that a man and a woman had just injected heroin and the woman was not breathing. Officers found the male suspect to be in possession of a black tar-like substance, along with a hypodermic needle containing the substance, which tested positive for heroin. Officers also found the suspect to be in possession of three orange pills that were identified as Suboxone.

The female suspect was transported to an area hospital and the male, 24-year-old Austin Vail of Boise, was charged with a felony count of heroin possession and misdemeanor charges of possession of a Schedule III substance and drug paraphernalia.

Daniel Eakins, 55, is charged with meth possession and failure to appear.

Police also report that, while on patrol in the early morning hours of Jan. 20, they came upon a parked vehicle with the engine running. Inside was a suspect who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a previous charge. A search of the suspect revealed a white crystalline substance that tested positive for meth.

Samuel Schoelkoph, 28, is charged with cocaine possession, driving without privileges and failure to provide insurance.

Police also report that, while on patrol Jan. 20, they stopped a vehicle in the area of West Fairview Avenue and North Milwaukee Street, whose owner was currently suspended and couldn't provide proof of insurance. Additionally, a search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of meth.
