A Boise woman is behind bars, charged with slugging a Boise police officer in the face after the officer tried to stop her from driving away.
Boise Police say they were in the process of arresting a driver of a vehicle Jan. 11, on charges of violating a No Contact Order, when a front seat passenger, who appeared to be extremely intoxicated, tried to drive away from the scene. An officer reached down to turn the ignition off, but police said the suspect reached over from the passenger seat and punched the officer in the face, causing a laceration to his lower lip. Police said the suspect also scratched the officer's lower lip with her finger nails.
Jessica Redman, 26, was charged with a felony count of battery on a law enforcement officer.
Boise Police arrested another woman Jan. 10, charging her with DUI and drug possession after her vehicle struck a curb and blew a tire on Orchard Street near the I-84 ramp. Officers said they found evidence that the driver was under the influence of medication and found in her possession a pill identified as Methylin, a schedule II drug, which the suspect could not provide a prescription for.
Shauna Morris, 53, of Nampa was charged with driving under the influence and a felony count of possession of a schedule II drug.
