Valley Regional Transit is beginning the New Year with changes to some of its major bus routes. In announcing the changes, VRT officials said the changes—effective Monday, Jan. 6—will provide new service to high-demand areas, eliminate unproductive bus route segments and add service to five more routes.
Among the changes:
Route 8/Five Mile will begin and end at the Boise Towne Square mall instead of Zone 2 downtown, and will begin providing service to the West Boise YMCA.
Route 8X Express will expand to also include service to the West Boise YMCA, and a third run will be added to both morning and afternoon schedules.
Route 9X Express will increase the number of round trips from three to eight.
Route 10 Hill Road/Maple Grove will be adding a second overflow bus on its 7:40 a.m. run during the school year.
Route 28 Cole/Victory will eliminate the loop serving the Bishop Kelly High School area.
More changes are slated in the Nampa-Caldwell area and in ValleyRide's inter county service. You can get the full details by clicking here.
