Boise Man Charged With Ecstasy Possession After Nightclub Bust

A Boise man is in jail Dec. 23 after being caught with a substance that was field identified as MDMA, otherwise known as ecstasy. 



Boise police officers on foot patrol were called to a nightclub just after midnight Dec. 23 by one of the club's bouncers, who gave the officers a vial of an unknown liquid the bouncer said a male at the bar had tried to put into a female patron's drink. 



The bouncer identified the suspect, who police identified as Michael Mallard, 22, of Boise. During a consent search, the officers found Mallard to be in possession of another similar vial of liquid, as well as three plastic baggies containing approximately 40 pills and capsules that field tested positive for MDMA. 



The officers arrested Mallard. He was arrested on a charge of controlled substance-delivery, which is a felony.
