Police Blotter: Jewelry Theft, Car Break-Ins and Meth Possession


Steven Oldham, 41, is charged with burglary, grand theft, resisting and obstructing and trespassing.

A Caldwell man is behind bars after store employees said he was helping himself to a five-finger discount at a local retail outlet.

Boise Police were called to the store on the 400 block of Milwaukee Street overnight. That's where store employees told police that they witnessed the suspect conceal several items of jewelry and leave the store without paying for them. When police confronted the suspect, they say the man appeared to be intoxicated at the time and resisted arrest. Police recovered more than $2,000 worth of jewelry from the suspect's person.

41-year-old Steven Oldham of Caldwell was charged with felony counts of burglary and grand theft, trespassing and resisting and obstructing.

Chance Pearson, 28, is charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

Boise Police also report that, while on patrol early this morning, they observed a vehicle conduct an illegal turn near South Orchard Road and West Franklin Street. A Police K-9 alerted on the vehicle indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search revealed multiple packages of meth and drug paraphernalia. A check through Boise city Records also indicated the suspect was currently on parole.

28-year-old Chance Pearson of Boise was charged with a felony count of possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Catherine Robinson, 50,  is charged with felony burglary.

Boise Police also report that they took an Eagle woman into custody Dec. 9 in connection with the theft of personal items from vehicles in a parking lot on the 700 block of West Cunningham Place in June of 2012. Officers said they recovered the stolen items and returned them to the owners.

50-year-old Catherine Robinson of Eagle was booked into the Ada County Jail on a felony count of burglary.
