Boise Police Make 12 DUI Arrests, Break Up Bar Fight

As part of a statewide campaign and enforcement effort running through Friday, Nov. 29, Boise Police said they made 12 DUI arrests over the past weekend for driving under the influence, including one felony arrest.

Police were called to a report of an intoxicated man at a bar on the 1700 block of South Broadway Avenue Nov. 24. That's were witnesses told officers that the suspect was sitting in the driver's seat of a pickup truck with the engine running. When the suspect left his vehicle, police said they observed evidence that he was intoxicated and told him repeatedly not to get back into the truck. But when officers began to leave, the suspect got back into the driver's seat.

47-year-old David Christopher of Boise was charged with a felony DUI as he had a prior conviction for DUI in California.

Peter Martinich, 27, is charged with felony aggravated assault.

Boise Police were also called out early this morning to a report of a knife fight at a bar on the 5700 block of West Overland Road. That's where witnesses said two people causing problems inside the bar were ordered by employees to leave. One witnesses said he feared for his safety when a man threatened him with a knife.

27-year-old Peter Martinich of Garden City was charged with a felony count of aggravated assault.
