Witnesses said the driver of a vehicle which hit a teenage girl this morning near Indian Creek Elementary in Kuna was traveling in the area with windows that were still frosted-over.
Ada County Sheriff's Department officials said the car ran over the foot of the girl, knocking the teen to the ground. Law enforcement said the driver of the vehicle stopped immediately upon impact. Paramedics took the teen to a nearby hospital but appeared not to have any life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses said the girl was a 13-year-old eighth-grade student, but was near the school because her younger brother attended Indian Creek Elementary. Witnesses said the girl and a crossing guard were able to pull the younger brother away from the vehicle's path, but the girl was struck.
The driver of the vehicle, 32-year-old David Buchholz, was cited for inattentive driving.
