Idaho has some catching up to do when it comes to the growth of citizens' personal income, Boise State Public Radio reports



According to a set of data released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis, income growth between 2011 and 2012 averaged 4.2 percent in United States metro areas. Boise's average income growth was pegged at a measly 2.4 percent on a per capita basis.



Idaho Falls reported 2.6 percent growth and Pocatello came in at 1.8 percent growth. 



According to the BEA data, Idahoans earned 21.2 percent less than the average U.S. income in 2012.
