Police Blotter: Two Altercations, Two Assault Arrests


Paul Kennedy, 45, is charged with aggravated assault.

Boise Police report that two separate incidents have landed two men behind bars, each charged with felony assault.

Law enforcement were called to a home near South Vista Avenue and West Overland Road Nov. 2. That's where a woman said a man had grabbed her by the throat and began choking her, while making verbal threats. Police said alcohol was a probable factor in the incident.

45-year-old Paul Kennedy of Emmett was sent to the Ada County lockup and charged with aggravated assault.

Richard Rinehart, 63, is charged with aggravated assault and malicious injury to property.

Also Nov. 2, police were called to a report of a disturbance at a home near West Franklin and South Cole roads. That's where an adult male victim told police he witnessed a man using a crescent wrench to break windows and cause other damage to a vehicle. The victim said when he confronted the suspect, the suspect raised the wrench in a threatening manner and made verbal threats.

63-year-old Richard Rinehart of Boise was also sent to the Ada County Jail where he was booked for aggravated assault and malicious injury to property.
