Boise Police responded to a report of attempted robbery at a bar near South Vista Avenue and Kootenai Street Oct. 20. That's where a witness told police the suspect entered the bar looking for a phone. But at one point, the suspect pulled a knife, held it to a victim's stomach and demanded money. The suspect grabbed for money from a cash register when the victim began screaming and struggling. Other patrons jumped in and started fighting with the suspect, wrestling the suspect out the door, forcing him to drop the knife.
Officers found the suspect a short time later at a restaurant on the 2300 block of South Vista.
40-year-old Adrian Lopez of Fort Lupton, Colo., was charged with a felony count of robbery.
A Utah man was locked up Oct. 19 after managers at a local hotel said he obtained food and alcohol from room service, using a false room number.
Boise Police were called to the hotel on the 3300 block of Vista Avenue and that's where employees said the suspect entered the hotel, used a false room number and ordered the meal, but a short time later employees determined the suspect was not a registered guest and didn't have a way to pay for the services.
56-year-old Dee Daley of Sandy, Utah, was charged with a felony count of burglary.
UPDATE: According to court records, the felony burglary charge was dismissed and Daley was found guilty of petty theft, a misdemeanor.
A Garden City man is was booked into the Ada County Jail early this morning after being charged with a hit and run.
Boise Police report that the crash occurred on the westbound I-84 at the Franklin off ramp. That's where witnesses said a passenger car struck the jersey barrier before becoming disabled. According to the witness, two individuals ran from the crash. Police found the two men a short time later in a nearby parking lot.
Police said the driver appeared to be very intoxicated and failed several field sobriety tests. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect had a prior conviction for felony DUI.
34-year-old Carlos Luna of Garden City was charged with a felony count of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
