An Amber Alert was issued last night out of Idaho Falls for a little girl believed to be bound for Mexico with one set of grandparents.
KPVI News 6 reports that police are trying to locate 5-year-old Aaliyah Esqueda. Authorities think she’s with her father’s parents, Irene Ma Esqueda, 71, and Salvador Esqueda, 74.
Police say the other set of grandparents, Debra and Scott Yagues, have legal guardianship over the girl. Irene and Salvador are only allowed to visit on Tuesdays.
Aaliyah was supposed to be returned to the Yagueses' on Sunday, but they received a Facebook message from an Esqueda relative indicating the Esquedas were taking her to her father in Mexico. Police speculate the three left Idaho Falls Thursday night on a bus heading for Mexico.
Aaliyah is 3 feet 5 inches tall and 50 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Irene Ma Esqueda is 5 feet 4 inches tall and 178 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. Her husband Salvador is 5 feet 5 inches tall and 160 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes.
