A Meridian man is behind bars charged with disarming a police officer in an incident where Garden City Police say the suspect grabbed a Taser from law enforcement.
Garden City Police responded to a call near 38th and Adams Streets Sept. 2. That's where witnesses told police that the suspect had been wandering through neighbors' yards, taking children's toys and other property.
When police spotted the suspect, he fled on foot. When they finally caught up with the suspect, police said the man snatched the Taser. Ultimately, the suspect was handcuffed with no injuries and the Taser was never fired.
The suspect complained of chest pains, but was medically cleared by a local hospital.
28-year-old Deylen Loos was charged with violating his parole from a previous drug conviction, resisting arrest, being under the influence of drugs in public and a felony count of disarming a police officer.
