Police Blotter: Arson, Lewd Conduct and Grand Theft

Sterling Burton, 72, is charged with lewd conduct with a child under 16.

A Boise man was taken into custody Aug. 28, charged with repeated lewd conduct with a child.

Boise Police acted on a warrant stemming from an investigation into alleged incidents that took place in a Boise home on more than one location over the last year. Police said the suspect, who was under the age of ten at the time, was well known to the victim.

72-year-old Sterling Burton of Boise was booked into the Ada County Jail and charged with a felony count of lewd conduct with a child under 16.

Ronald Rand, 63, is charged with grand theft.

Boise Police were also called to a business on the 6300 block of West Overland Road. That's where the owner of the store told law enforcement that an employee had taken more than $30,000 in merchandise and money from the store over a seven month period.

63-year-old Ronald Rand of Boise was charged with a felony count of grand theft.

Steven Roberts, 42, is charged with arson.

And a Boise man was transferred from Louisiana back to Boise Aug. 28 to face charges in connection with a fire that was set at a Boise home on the 5800 block of West Randolph Drive in September 2012.

42-year-old Steven Roberts was booked into the Ada County lockup on a felony charge of arson.
