A Boise man is behind bars charged with drunk driving after police said he drove the wrong way down several one-way streets.
Early this morning, a Boise Police officer said he witnessed a suspect driving down the wrong way on Main Street. When the officer approached the vehicle, the driver took off, this time driving the wrong way on Capitol Boulevard. As police pursued the suspect, he also drove the wrong way on Ninth Street. Police said the suspect's vehicle accelerated to approximately 70 mph. Police said the driver also drove the wrong way on Eighth Street and without any headlights on.
Ultimately, Boise Police said the car crashed onto a sidewalk, hitting a bike rack, bicycle and parked car.
When Police finally took the suspect into custody, they smelled the odor of alcohol and the suspect failed several field sobriety tests.
23-year-old Rojas Perez was charged with DUI, eluding police, leaving the scene of a crash and failure to notify upon striking a fixture.
In the early morning hours of Aug. 18, Boise Police said they witnessed a suspect driving in the middle of the roadway on Main Street from 10th Street to Third Street. After stopping the vehicle, the driver failed several field sobriety tests. A check of Boise city records indicated that the suspect had several DUI arrests over the last ten years.
33 year-old Ruben Aguilar of Boise was charged with a felony count of DUI.
And another traffic stop on Aug. 17 led Boise Police to the seizure of LSD.
Police said they witnessed the driver fail to use turn signals at Broadway Avenue near Federal Way. While talking to the suspect, they saw that the driver was in possession of the controlled substance.
24-year-old Andrew Williamson of Portland, Ore., was booked into the Ada County Jail on a felony count of possession of LSD.
