Desperate times call for desperate measures.
This morning's Tri-City Herald chronicles the extreme efforts of 24-year-old job-seeker John Showalter, a recent graduate of Washington State University.
Instead of papering the landscape with his resume, Showalter has instead plastered an image of himself in cap and gown on Tri-City busses.
Showalter, who graduated in May, said he and his father, who works as a media consultant, came up with a campaign that began with a website called wsugradneedsjob.com, included a Facebook page pointing to a cover letter and resume, and—finally—a bus advertisement that will run for three months. The bus advertisements, according to the Herald, usually cost about $500 per month.
Specifically, Showalter is looking for work that will best tap his education in mechanical engineering.
