A Montana community is on edge following the report that Billings police are investigating a woman who was reportedly impersonating a nurse at a local hospital.
Police have now turned to the public in hopes that someone can identify a suspect seen coming out of St. Vincent Healthcare wearing a lab coat and stethoscope. A spokesman said the hospital was "actively cooperating with the police."
The Billings Gazette first reported in late April that St. Vincent Healthcare had sent a memo to its employees "warning that a woman had been posing as a nurse." The woman had accompanied physicians as they checked on patients and was believed to have some medical background, according to the memo.
The woman, according to the memo, went by different names including Angela Corson-Smith, Angela Hanson and Angela Smith.
Billings police are consulting with the Yellowstone County Attorney's Office and the U.S. Attorney's Office as the investigation continues.
