The victim of a May 10 shooting struggled through much of the weekend in critical condition but ultimately died of his injuries, leading Boise Police to arrest a suspect on a charge of involuntary manslaughter.
Police said it appeared the shooting had been accidental and alcohol appeared to have been a factor.
The victim, 20-year-old Austin Blankenburg of Kuna, died of a single gunshot wound to the head.
Police were called to a home in the area of S. Orchard and Cassia streets shortly after 10 p.m. May 10 when they found the shooting victim.
Police, working with Ada County Prosecutors, charged 23-year-old Derick Sedivy of Boise with a felony count of involuntary manslaughter. He's being held at the Ada County Jail, pending his arraignment later today.
