An Idaho public school teacher who came under fire from some parents for teaching about orgasms and using the word "vagina" while instructing 10th grade biology, has filed a formal response with the state department of education's professional standards commission, which is investigating the complaint.
This morning's Twin Falls Times-News reports that Dietrich science teacher Tim McDaniel wrote to the commission that he did nothing wrong and that this was the first complaint he received during his teaching career.
But McDaniel told the commission that he detected a disturbing trend.
"This school is notorious for letting students and parents run off good teachers," wrote McDaniel who has taught for 17 years.
Meanwhile McDaniel said he'll continue to teach until he hears back from the state commission.
"I have to watch my back," he told the Times-News. "I don't know how this is going to end."
