The city of Cascade has a new mayor and police chief.
This morning's McCall Star-News reports that the Cascade City Council appointed one of its own—Rob Terry—to become interim mayor of the Valley County community. Terry will serve until the end of 2013, or he may choose to seek election to a full term in the November municipal election.
Terry replaces Dick Carter, who resigned in February in the wake of accusations by some citizens that he had repeatedly used sexual and racial slurs.
Meanwhile Cascade Police Sergeant Randy Freeman has been appointed as his city's new police chief. The former chief, Ryan Redmon, announced in March that he was resigning to take a job as a patrolman in Garden City.
The Star-News reports that Freeman had been Redmon's second-in-command before his appointment to become chief.
