Police: Reckless Driving, Road Rage May Have Led to Suspicious Death in Southwest Boise

UPDATE: 10 a.m.

Boise Police are turning to the public to help them piece together clues to what may have led to the death of a man, found inside a vehicle Monday night in the westbound lane of Franklin Road.

Police theorize that an incident of reckless driving or road rage began on Vista Avenue near Canal Street at approximately 8 p.m. Monday. They say the incident probably involved a male driver behind the wheel of a white Chevy Prism. Police said the vehicles proceeded westbound on I-84 from Vista to Franklin Road, resulting in an accident at approximately 8:25 p.m. on Franklin, just east of Benjamin Lane.

Police also said there is evidence of one shot being fired from a weapon on Franklin Road.

Boise Police said they are questioning a person of interest who was taken into custody overnight.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS.

Boise Police said early today that an investigation into a man found dead in a car on Franklin Road was "rapidly unfolding."

A passerby called 911 at approximately 8:30 p.m. Monday, saying a man appeared to be injured inside a vehicle on West Franklin, just east of Benjamin Lane. When an Ada County EMS team arrived on the scene, they called in Boise Police after they "recognized suspicious circumstances."

While law enforcement said there was no evidence that citizens were in ongoing danger, they said the death appears to involve foul play.
