Press: Sorry, Babe. North Idaho City Denies Pig Request

No pig, no sale.

An Idaho man, interested in moving his family to Coeur d'Alene, said he would look elsewhere Tuesday after city officials denied his request to refine their ordinance barring livestock in residential areas.

This morning's Coeur d'Alene Press reports that Zak Adams, whose family includes Penelope, a pot-bellied pig, was looking at real estate in Coeur d'Alene but when officials said they wouldn't alter their animal ordinances, Adams said he would look elsewhere. City rules allow no more than three chickens in residential areas, but other requests for pigs or goats have been denied.

"I'm fine with it," Adams told the Press. "It clarifies our real estate search."
