Boise Airport Open After Personal Plane Crash

Fog caused problems at the Boise Airport Saturday evening, especially for the pilot of a small private aircraft that missed the airport's runway and temporarily brought all operations to a halt.

Flights were unable to take off or land in heavy fog after the accident left the small aircraft blocking the airport's only operational runway, according to the Boise Police Department.

A statement from Rebecca Hupp, Boise Airport director, indicated the two passengers were fine:

At approximately 7:30 p.m., the airport was notified a general aviation aircraft missed the runway on landing, The two passengers on board did not require transport to the hospital. The airport is temporarily closed due to the proximity of the damaged aircraft. Once the aircraft is moved, the Boise Airport will resume normal operations.

As of 11:13 p.m. Saturday, the aircraft had been removed and the Boise Airport's runway was clear once more.
