The Idaho State men's basketball team isn't having a stellar season—they're currently 4-12. But Wednesday night, the nation took notice when sophomore guard Chris Hansen hurled an 88-footer into the basket at the first half buzzer.
The miracle shot must have inspired the Bengals, because with 2.5 seconds left in the game, junior guard Thomas Sanchez made a layup to give the team a 60-59 win over Sacramento State. Sanchez scored a game-high 22 points. Hansen dropped 15 points—the buzzer beater was one of two 3-pointers.
Idaho State shot 40.4 percent from the floor while Sacramento State shot 41.7 percent.
