Netflix apparently has a new holiday tradition: disruption of service.
Followng a lengthy outage on Christmas Eve, after which Netflix appologized profusely for the following few days, the online video service again experienced issues on New Year's Eve, according to a message posted on the Netflix website and other third-party website monitoring services.
On the Netflix website, users reporting seeing the mesage:
"We’re sorry. The Netflix site is temporarily unavailable. Our engineers are working hard to bring the site back up as quickly as possible."
The website DownRightNow reported a steep dropoff in website uptime.
Netflix was still reeling from a long Christmas Eve outage, which the company blamed on its Amazon host, and specifically Amazon's servers, which leases out its servers to numerous users, including Netflix.
