No-Contact Order Issued for Idaho Man Charged With 'Roughing Up' Three School Children


A court date has been slated for a Lewis County man, accused of roughing up three children at a Craigmont elementary school on Dec. 17. Byron Edwards, 35, of Reubens will face three counts of injury to a child when he appears in Nez Perce Magistrate Court on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Law enforcement accused Edwards of slapping, kicking, tripping and holding a child in a headlock at Highland Elementary School on Dec. 17. Edwards was visiting his fifth-grade son when the incident occurred.

A no-contact order has been issued, forbidding Edwards from having any contact with the alleged victims or their families.

Edwards is also facing previous charges of meth possession and theft in Umatilla, Ore.
