Idaho Nets $2.9 Million in Settlement With Pfizer, Pharmacia

Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden and his team of legal eagles have spent a good portion of 2012 securing settlements from huge pharmaceutical companies, accused of all kinds of shenanigans.

So it was no surprise Thursday when Wasden's office unveiled yet another agreement, this time reached with pharmaceutical giants Pfizer and Pharmacia

The two pharmaceutical companies have agreed to shell out $2.9 million to Idaho, in the wake of a 2007 lawsuit that alleged the companies were inflating the wholesale prices of their drugs, resulting in overpayments for drugs such as Zyrtec and Celebrex.

To date, Wasden's office has recovered more than $25 million in similar settlements with 36 pharmaceutical companies.
