Explosion, Fire Lights Up Pre-Dawn Sky in South Boise

Fire investigators waited until dawn to ramp up their investigation into this morning's explosion and fire, which sent a South Boise family out into the cold.

A mother and three daughters escaped the fire at their South Yorktown Way home. Fire officials said the home was a total loss, but quick work prevented the fire from spreading to nearby residences.

Neighbors told authorities that they heard several explosions, but fire officials said the home was not heated with natural gas.
